Antonio de Rosa & Mattia Russo (Kor'sia)
For the place—or more precisely, the non-place—that the Spanish choreography collective Kor’sia defines as a site of transit and anonymity, a bus stop in the middle of nowhere serves as the setting. A place of passage and waiting. Suspended between departure and arrival. Far from everything, it nonetheless offers a space of possibility that is often lost in the anonymity of the big city, where encounters occur without connection. In such a non-place, encounters gain new weight, offer the chance for new perspectives, question everyday perception, and hold fragments of stories. Antonio de Rosa, Mattia Russo, and the dancers play with these possibilities, dissolving boundaries of time and narrative in constantly shifting situations so that images and contexts emerge that invite interpretation and reinterpretation.
The Spain-based, internationally sought-after choreography collective Kor’sia explores dance as an artistic means to unravel and comment on human behavior. Their works offer reflections on being-in-the-world and unfold individual and collective spaces created through the dialogue of bodies. Their latest choreography, ORT, was developed for and with the dancers of Of Curious Nature.
