Virtual Reality
Together with the CyberRäuber collective, experts in combining virtual reality and theater, Of Curious Nature has developed a dance format that enables everyone—regardless of prior dance experience—to virtually become a dancer.
For the “Digital Motions Laboratory,” the artists of OCN created digital bodies and taught their avatars to dance using digital motion capture techniques.
With the help of a VR headset, the audience can move alongside the digital dancers in the virtual space, freely choosing their distance and perspective.
As an innovative feature, visitors to the Digital Motions Laboratory are given their own virtual hands, which they can move freely. Equipped with these, they can begin engaging in initial creative processes with the dancer avatars.
In this intuitive way, aspects of movement and space become directly tangible.
The use of a Quest 2 VR headset is required. Those who do not own one can borrow a headset for a small fee at the “Digital Motions” events.
