Phoebe Jewitt
Phoebe Jewitt is a British-Swiss choreographer and the Artistic Director of PITT Company. Inspired by the world of film, she develops a precise, rhythmic movement language that combines striking visual worlds with an interest in human relationships and social dynamics.
After earning a BA in Contemporary Dance from Zurich University of the Arts, Jewitt spent six seasons as a dancer with TanzLuzern. Since 2025, she has dedicated herself to her choreographic work, developing her own productions for PITT Company as well as commissioned works for international companies and institutions. Her previous work includes creations for TanzLuzern, KSU Dance Company, Ballet Arabesque, VERVE, Zurich University of the Arts, and DAF Dance Arts Faculty. Upcoming works are being created for BalletX, Volkstheater Rostock, Theater Krefeld und Mönchengladbach, and VERVE. Her works with PITT Company have been touring internationally on a regular basis since 2022, including performances in Taiwan, Italy, Denmark, Panama, Greece, and Switzerland.
Her accolades include receiving the Migros Culture Percentage Dance Prize twice, as well as the Jury Award and two Production Awards at the Copenhagen International Choreography Competition. For the TANZ Yearbook 2026, she was selected by Graham Watts OBE as “Newcomer of the Year.”
