Ort / Un-Zeit

For the place, or better: the nonplace, which the Spanish choreography collective Kor’sia defines as place of transit and anonymity, stands a bus stop in no man’s land. A place of transit and waiting. In limbo between place of departure and arrival. Far away from everything, it nevertheless offers a potential that is often lost in the anonymity of the big city in the unrelated encounter. In such an inplace, encounters take on a new weight, offer the chance for new perspectives, question everyday perceptions, and hold fragments of stories in store. Antonio de Rosa, Mattia Russo and the dancers play with these possibilities, blurring temporal and narrative levels in constantly changing situations, so that images and contexts emerge that challengeinterpretation and reinterpretation.

UN‐ZEIT creates hypnotic images in a foggy space. The perception of time seems to fray, the just ordered movements of the group lose their linearity, individuals fall out of form and move radically, disoriented. Postures squirm under the impression of new realities and paradoxes, movements get out of shape and grope in intimate moments searching for reliability and support.
Helge Letonja surprises his audience again with the second choreography of the evening: The Symphony No.4 by Henryk Mikolaj Górecki, with its strong contrasts and exciting accents, forms the musical reference point for Letonja’s contemporary group choreography full of dynamics. The dancers of Of Curious Nature also captivate in this production with their multi‐layered dance language.
